My Paintings

I began painting in the early months of 2015 after a hiccup with my first employment in Canada. I was new to the country and found myself to have so much time in my hands, so when offered free painting lessons, I didn't have to think twice. I am grateful to my teacher, Bert Monterona, for teaching me all that I know and for encouraging me to continue to express myself in the way that I am most comfortable.

Lifestyle Changes

I've recently been trying to change the way I treat my body. When I was in my early twenties, I paid little attention to my diet and way of living. No wonder I am unhealthy these days. Well, that's going to change so if you're up for the ride, I am willing to share the few tricks I've picked up to gaining a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle, not to mention, more cost efficient!

Filipino Recipes

I have to say that I'm not a chef nor do I claim to be the best cook in the world! However, I still want to share the Filipino recipes I've learned from my grandma so I am seizing this opportunity to do so! I take pride in my Pinay heritage so I am sharing with you all that I've learned from the humble home I grew up in. Straight from Navotas, Metro Manila, with love. Enjoy!

Advocating for Peace

I've learned that peace can be a very ambiguous word. It may mean the absence of war for one person and it can be as simple as bread for another. Whatever our definition is of peace, one thing is for sure, we all want it and we all deserve it. I guess my advocacy for migrant workers began when I became one myself. And from a very personal dilemma, my understanding of the migrant crisis inevitable grew as I met other migrant workers, local workers and advocates. If you would like to join me in this journey, I'm making my very personal thoughts and experiences public.
